CLEANING EQUIPMENT
To get the most out the floor cleaning equipment in the shortest
amount of time,
you will need to determine:
-Type of equipment you need (Sweeper, or Floor Scrubber)
-Size of the machine (take note of doorway and aisle width)
-Fuel (gasoline, diesel, or battery)
Sweepers are able to brush up debris and are essentially industrial
vacuum cleaners but will not "clean" the floor, only pick up debris on
the surface. Floor Scrubbers contain water and cleaning solutions and
will dispense solution, scrub the floor, and using a squeegee picks up
the dirty solution from the floor. Both Sweepers and floor scrubbers
come in rider and walk behind versions.
COVERAGE & TIME MANAGEMENT
For all types of floor cleaners, you will need to
determine the area of the floor to be cleaned. Floor cleaning
equipment is rated by coverage area or square footage. For example if
you use a smaller unit (walk behind floor scrubber) you will be making
more trips back to empty or refill the machine, and more passes back
and fourth to cover the same amount of area as a larger unit. A larger
unit will take less time to cover that same area, will have to empty
and refill the tanks less and will complete the job faster with better
results. Pick the machine that will clean the area that you are
working with, a smaller unit may work better for you if you have small
area's a larger rider unit cannot get into. Remember that severely
dirty, oily, and rough floors will reduce the range of the unit. Speak

solutions, brushes, and accessories to make the job go easier and
faster.
