Description
What do you give up by choosing the Leoch LDC8-188 over its 8V relatives? Mostly rate performance. Its 188Ah at the 20-hour rate falls to 153Ah at 5 hours and 135Ah at 3 hours, which is a steeper drop than the LDC8-195 shows (163Ah and 150Ah) in an identical 262 by 180 by 278.5 mm case. The 195 weighs 3 kg more; the 188 is the lighter option at 69.5 lbs.
Against the smaller LDC8-165-GC8 it makes a stronger case: 23Ah more at 20 hours and 13Ah more at 5 hours, for about 5 lbs of extra weight and a case roughly 26 mm taller. T11 (M8) terminals and an ABS case are standard here, and the datasheet's temperature limits are -20 to 55°C discharge, 0 to 40°C charge and -15 to 40°C storage.
Because the voltage is 8V, packs are sized differently from the usual 6V and 12V options: three batteries in series for 24V, or six for 48V. That is worth checking against your machine's charger profile before you order.
