AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries are the sealed, maintenance-free upgrade from flooded lead acid. There's no watering, no equalize charging, and no acid to spill or fume — which makes them the usual choice for food plants, hospitals, retail floors, and anywhere the machine parks near people or product. They also handle vibration and partial-state-of-charge cycling better than flooded, so they hold up well on machines that get topped off between shifts instead of fully recharged.
The trade-off is upfront cost: AGM sits between flooded and lithium on price. You'll also need to switch your charger to its AGM or "sealed" profile — most floor scrubber chargers have one built in, but running an AGM pack on a flooded charge curve will overcharge and dry it out.
We stock AGM replacements from Leoch, Trojan, and US Battery in 6V, 8V, and 12V, in the standard case sizes floor scrubbers and sweepers use — GC2, L16, group 24/27/31, DIN, 4D and 8D — from small U1 batteries up to 400+ Ah.
