SFS FD28R Ride-On Floor Scrubber
The SFS FD28R is the rider version of our FD28 walk-behind — same 27.6-inch cleaning path, same 36.2-inch squeegee, but the operator sits down and a 650 W traction motor does the walking. That is the whole point of the machine, and it is why the R is in the name: identical cleaning width, completely different day for whoever is running it.
The productivity gain is real and measurable. Rated throughput climbs to 53,820 ft²/hr against the walk-behind's 34,440 — roughly 56% more floor per hour from the same scrub head, purely because a seated operator keeps a steady working pace through a full shift instead of slowing down in the back half of it. A 31.7-gallon solution tank and 200 Ah battery bank support three to four hours of continuous work, and an 18% maximum grade rating means dock ramps and mezzanine transitions are part of the route rather than the end of it.
Choose between the two on labor, not on coverage. If your floors are open and your cleaner is on the machine for hours at a time, the FD28R pays for itself in pace and fatigue. If the work is broken up into short bursts between obstacles, the walk-behind FD28 is cheaper and more nimble for the same width. And if what you actually need is a wider pass, skip both and look at the 33.9-inch FD34.
