SFS FD40 Ride-On Floor Scrubber
The SFS FD40 rider floor scrubber is the largest scrubber we build, and the specification that matters most is not the 39.4-inch path — it is the 91.1-gallon solution tank and six hours of run time. Together those mean one operator, one machine and one charge can cover a full shift on a floor measured in hundreds of thousands of square feet, with no mid-route stop to dump, refill or swap batteries. At a rated 92,570 ft²/hr, that is close to two million square feet in a working week.
It is specified like a machine expected to run all day. Twin 650 W brush motors, two 650 W vacuum motors rather than one, a 1,400 W traction drive and a 400 Ah battery bank — double the capacity of the FD34. The dual vacuum arrangement is the detail worth understanding: on a 47.2-inch squeegee, a single motor loses pickup toward the outer edges at speed, which is where large riders typically leave a wet margin. Two motors maintain lift across the full width.
A 23% maximum grade is the highest in the range and handles steep dock approaches and parking-structure ramps fully loaded. The trade-offs are the obvious ones: at 79.3 and 91.1 gallons the tanks are heavy, the machine needs genuine turning room, and it ships at 78.7 inches long. This is a scrubber for open floor, not for aisles under about eight feet.
