Description
The belt driving the brush. It is among the cheapest parts on the machine and among the most consequential, because a brush that is not turning properly means the machine is not cleaning - and that failure imitates a worn brush almost exactly.
Belts do not usually snap. They stretch, which makes them slip under load, and they glaze, leaving a hard shiny face that cannot grip the pulley. Either way the brush spins freely with nothing against it and then slows or stalls the moment it meets the floor, so the machine appears to clean in some places and not others. Before replacing a brush that seems to have stopped working, put a hand on the belt - tension and surface condition answer the question in seconds. At this price there is no sense running a marginal one, and a spare in the parts bin costs less than one wasted service call.
