Description

A sweeping brush rather than a scrubbing one - the distinction matters because the two wear differently and get judged by different symptoms. A sweeper brush is working against grit, gravel and litter rather than a wet floor, and it loses effectiveness by shrinking: the bristles shorten, the sweep path narrows, and debris starts escaping at the edges while the brush still looks perfectly serviceable.

That is the test to use. If the machine has begun leaving a line of debris just outside its path, measure the brush rather than inspecting it. And check the height setting before fitting a replacement, because a sweeping brush run too low wears its tips flat in a fraction of the expected life while drawing extra current the whole time - the commonest reason a new brush disappoints. Tennant's code for this one does not specify the fill, so confirm the material against your old brush: proex for general work, nylon where heat and abrasion are the problem, union fiber where dust control leads.
