Description
The SAB on Tennant's label stands for super abrasive: this 16-inch disk brush carries silicon-carbide grit bonded onto nylon filament, and it is the most aggressive disk fill Tennant offers for a scrubber.
Reach for it when ordinary poly brushes are polishing dirt rather than lifting it, which usually means bonded soil, tyre marks or ground-in grease on bare concrete. The grit does the cutting, so you need less down-pressure than with a stiff non-abrasive brush. One caution worth more than any spec: a super-abrasive brush held in one spot, or run with heavy pressure, will cut into the slab itself, and on any coated or finished floor it takes the coating off. It belongs on concrete.
Grit brushes have a shorter working life than plain poly because the abrasive wears away before the filament does. Once it stops biting, more pressure will not bring it back - the grit is simply gone.
