U1 is a small-format case originally built for lawn and garden equipment, which is why it shows up so often in mobility devices and compact machines today — the size was already standardized long before AGM chemistry existed, so it's an easy physical match if you're replacing an older flooded or SLA battery in that same footprint. Sealed and non-spillable, it tolerates freezing temperatures better than a flooded equivalent and needs no watering.
