Most of Trojan's AES lineup is built around American BCI group sizes, but the TE35-AES is cut to DIN — German Industrial Standard dimensions — for equipment manufactured to European specs. If a floor machine's battery compartment was designed around a DIN-size cell, swapping in a GC2 or BCI-sized AES battery simply won't fit; the TE35-AES exists specifically to close that gap without a compartment retrofit.
Capacity-wise it lands near the top of Trojan's 6V AES range at 180Ah (5-hr) / 215Ah (100-hr), with 450 minutes of reserve at 25 amps — meaningfully more than the T105-AES's 529-minute figure once you account for the TE35-AES's smaller footprint (9.61" x 7.48" vs the T105-AES's 10.30" x 7.06"). At 74.3 lbs it's also the lightest 6V AES battery in the lineup, a byproduct of the more compact DIN case rather than reduced plate content.
